Heading "home" to Bend - Our home town for the last 12 years!

The next morning we woke up - had breakfast in the motor home at the Super Walmart & then off we went south on Hwy 5 to the Salem and switched to Hwy 22 East along the McKenzie River to head "home" to Bend..oh  Wow...we are heading "home" to Bend!  Our sis's were waiting and friends Polly & Corinne too...with a warm welcome!  Driving along the river and seeing the beautiful Fall colors  was just gorgeous!

How great to see the river again....such familiar sights!  Nick we are heading home....

The colors of the season....so beautiful - all those bright yellows and reds....Fall is just beautiful here in the mountains of the Cascades!
We climbed higher and higher...elevation was about 6500 feet - the motor home did well...!

Ah...here is the cross over for the Pacific Crest Trail....so very popular among hikers all over the world!

Yes you can hike from Mexican border early Spring and hike the whole mountain ranges - Sierra's which is California and up through the Cascade's of Oregon and continue up through Washington State to the Canadian Border!  People come do it from all over!  Our friends Mark & Holly Scott just completed the track 2000 miles all together!
Pacific Crest Trail Worth a look on this Link!

Yes we are over the mountain pass now and just drove through Sisters (very cute town to visit!)

Sisters Oregon
The high dessert of Bend Oregon is dry...the dry side...altitude is 3600 feet in Bend!  With  beautiful Cascade Mountain views...

Well we have arrived!  We will continue on this blog..sharing with you some sights & scenes as we travel south in a few weeks!  We are going to enjoy seeing the family & friends here in Bend for a month...and go to our storage unit and find some items to put into the motor home!
