Continuing our Trip south to the Los Angeles Area ~

Yes today, Saturday, we left Pismo Beach area and headed south to the Los Angeles area to go visit family there!

Pasadena & Venice and Lake Forest - San Clemente too we have friends to visit!

It was such a lovely day - Sunny and warm, blue skies- terrific!

......157 miles to go!  (Nick we need to clean those windows!)

It was time for me to get behind the steering wheel!  Yes to give Nick a break!

...it went well...just have to realize that we have something behind us....a car!
Yep ....the "girl" is happy...it's official...she's an .....
RV driver - finally!
It is such a nice drive...sitting up so high overlooking the road!  We are so' pleased to have done this!
We are both very very thankful!

Pretty sights along the highway...and beautiful weather!

All along the coast line people can park their trailer, motor homes or campers!  That makes it so nice -that is pretty neat here in CA - many people travel at this time of the year...but the weather is so mild here in southern California!!!

To see those BIG Motor homes behind us...Nick took a picture out the back window!
That is ONE BIG Mama following behind us!

Turning off of Hwy 101 we headed west on Hwy 27 to the coast - down into the Canyon - pretty!

There's the sign Nick.....

 Malibu California - RV Park

Wow...nice park!

Pretty view....look at that beautiful....Pacific Ocean!

4:45 pm...Sundown - Just in time!  It was a good drive but we are glad to be here!

These little Airstream is so cute!
Time to fix dinner...a salad..yes...and some sausage with some cauliflower...sounds good!  How about a glass of Gewurtztraminer? (Meg where are you???)

 Sounds good too!

All right...time to relax!

Visiting with the Nelson's ~

We enjoyed a really nice lunch with Alan & Vonna for our last day together!  We had seen these two trains parked long the road close by our campground.  So we went to look and it was adorable...retro...back to the 50's - Yes!  The history of these two trains are that they crossed the US - one was a diner & the other a lounge and both had had many well-known people eat there and have a cigarette and drink in that lounge!  Yes it was truly adorable!  We had a delicious lunch served in the old booths with the red booth seats...and checked floors....with lots of paraphernalia on the walls of the 40's through the 60' ~ and they played old song too!

 Cute!

The Cutest Diner ever! Click on this Link!

Betty Boob was there too! Of course!

The walls & ceilings were full of business cards...no place to hang ours!!!! ha!

Are you Ready to Rock & Roll?????

Cute huh?

See the old kitchen tables & chairs...we all use to have in our kitchen - not so long ago??????

Of course Marilyn Monroe and Elvis were on the walls too!

Yeah... "Peace Man Peace we say! Way cool huh???"

Alan & Vonna invited us over for dessert and they had a surprise for us.....??????

Together we enjoy the Gaithers and the Gospel groups...and we watched a dvd together with wonderful Christmas songs - oh what a treat!  We have enjoyed going together to see them in the Arco Arena in Sacramento - and so many times we have spent time together cozy in a cabin or in Hawaii - watching these wonderful dvd's together!  So yes dear friends - it was a special evening!!!
Joy! Joy! Unspeakable Joy! My Favorite!

(Bud & Ginny do you remember????)
  O Holy Night!
Listen - so beautiful!

Their little pets too enjoyed the music...cuddled under their blanket....             "Peekaboo!"

Thanks you Alan & Vonna for a great week with you both in Oceano ~ Pismo State Park Campground - it was a wonderful week of R&R!

See you in Yuma, Arizona in March!

Departure - with a Red ribbon!
PEACE!

Enjoying Time with Alan & Vonna in Pismo Beach!

Driving to Pismo Beach was about 3 hours from Carmel...and we made contact with our friends there Ruud & Sylvia....Indo's! We came through some years back and wanted to come by and say hello again! Their daughter & son-in-law are members of the Dutch Club in Bend.

This is their 5th Wheel & Truck
The American flag & Peace flag is up!
We also connected by phone with Alan & Vonna our friends - and they are "Camp Hosts" at the Pismo State Park Campground!  They had a parking spot for us - so went ahead to park our motor home first before going to Ruud & Sylvia!

There is Vonnaso good to see them! Yes we had visited shortly before heading to Indonesia - and so again, it was great to see them!  We too have been friends for such a long time!

We have a spot right next to them!  Nice!

We strolled down to the Beach!  Wow so pretty out there...soft sand - no rocks or shells - just soft sand!  The ATV's can be rented there...and lots of people enjoy that!

The weather was mild and we stood there on the beach seeing the beauty of the California coast line!

People can drive their cars and trailers right onto the beach and they do!   They can camp there overnight too!

There in the distance many many miles going west is Indonesia.....Hello Dear Friends!  We send you our love!!!! We miss you all!!!!
